
A football fan has been arrested after allegedly directing racist abuse towards a player during the League Two clash between Bradford City and Luton Town.
West Yorkshire Police confirmed the incident occurred during the match at Valley Parade on Saturday. Officers swiftly intervened, detaining the individual in question.
Match officials and stewards were alerted to the abuse, which reportedly targeted a Luton Town player. The alleged perpetrator was removed from the stadium and taken into custody.
A police spokesperson stated: "We take all reports of hate crime extremely seriously. An investigation is ongoing, and appropriate action will be taken."
Both clubs have condemned the incident, with Bradford City issuing a statement reaffirming their zero-tolerance policy towards discrimination. Luton Town also expressed support for their player and praised the swift response from authorities.
