Morrisons has updated its opening hours for the bank holiday Monday, 25 May. Most large supermarkets in England and Wales will open from 7am to 8pm, while smaller Morrisons Daily convenience stores will operate as usual.
In Scotland, there are no legal restrictions on trading hours for large shops on bank holidays, meaning Morrisons branches there will remain open at normal times. Customers are advised to check local store hours online before travelling.
The announcement comes as the supermarket proposes around 200 job cuts at its Hilmore House headquarters, affecting less than 10% of roles at the site. The company plans to increase its use of artificial intelligence across operations.
Last month, Morrisons reported further sales growth under CEO Rami Baitieh, describing the market as “tough for customers right now” and committing to ongoing investment in pricing. A consultation over the proposed redundancies has begun.
