Reality television personality Lala Kent has undergone her second breast augmentation surgery within a four-year period this Monday, addressing a medical condition known as capsular contracture. This complication occurs when scar tissue around breast implants hardens, leading to significant pain and physical distortion of the implants.
Social Media Announcement and Medical Details
The 35-year-old former star of Vanderpump Rules, who commands an impressive social media following of 3.2 million people, shared a photograph of her medical identification bracelet on her Instagram story. The bracelet displayed her birth name, Lauren Elyse Burningham, alongside the caption: "Good morning. It's time!" This public revelation came as Kent prepared for the surgical procedure to correct her implant issues.
Podcast Revelations About Pregnancy Complications
Kent had previously disclosed on the January 14 episode of her podcast, Untraditionally Lala, that the breast implants she received in 2022 had become warped following the birth of her 18-month-old daughter, Sosa Kent. The child was conceived through intrauterine insemination, and Kent explained how the pregnancy had affected her body in multiple ways.
"Sosa wreaked havoc on my body. Between my stomach that's a little loosey-goosey, depending on the way I move," the single mother of two children stated candidly. "My body created life. Love that part. But my boobs, my right one is concaved on one side and is working its way up to the collarbone."
Loss of Confidence and Surgical Planning
During the October 15 episode of her podcast, Kent confessed that she had lost confidence in her breasts due to the worsening condition. She revealed that she had already selected a world-renowned female plastic surgeon who specializes specifically in treating capsular contracture cases.
"They're basically doing reconstructive surgery. I'm gonna go in, and they're going to use technology to show what size would look best," the Utah-born television personality explained. "But ultimately, this is something that I have to get done right. The longer I keep these implants in, the right one is going to continue to build scar tissue; it's going to continue to push towards the center of my chest and up towards my collarbone."
Kent addressed potential critics directly, stating: "I know you guys, most of you are gonna be like, 'Then you shouldn't have implants.' I'm sorry. I refuse to have my nipples down to my belly button, okay?"
Previous Cosmetic Procedures and Family Support
The Bravo celebrity has been open about her history with cosmetic enhancements, having previously undergone an otoplasty procedure for ear pinning, along with microneedling treatments, Botox injections, and lip fillers. Her recent surgery required family support and logistical planning.
On Sunday night, Kent's ex-fiancé Randall Emmett took custody of their daughter Ocean Emmett to celebrate the child's fifth birthday. The 54-year-old Hellfire producer presented Ocean with what Kent described as her "seventh and eighth cakes in five days" before taking the young girl to his native Miami for a special trip.
This arrangement allowed Kent to recover more comfortably at her $3.1 million five-bedroom home in the San Fernando Valley, where she lives with her mother, Lisa Burningham. Prior to the surgery, Kent had already hosted a birthday celebration for Ocean featuring a KPop Demon Hunters theme, during which she wore a long braided Rumi wig.
Emotional Tributes and Career Developments
In an Instagram tribute to her daughter, Kent wrote: "To my magical baby girl who made me a mama. You are the brightest light. The sweetest heart. The greatest force. May you continue to make waves forever. Happy 5th Birthday, Ocean Kent. God bless you."
The television personality, who celebrated seven years of sobriety on October 22, ended her three-year relationship with Emmett in 2021 amid allegations of infidelity. Professionally, Kent continues to expand her television career alongside her business ventures.
Both Kent and fellow reality star Tom Schwartz have been promoted from guest stars to full cast members for the upcoming third season of the Vanderpump Rules spin-off series, The Valley, which premieres on Bravo on April 1. Kent first gained recognition as a hostess at Lisa Vanderpump's restaurant SUR in 2015, appearing in seven seasons of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills spin-off before the network completely recast the show for its twelfth season.
