Disney World Worker Injured by Runaway Boulder at Indiana Jones Show
Disney Worker Hurt by Runaway Boulder in Florida

A cast member at Walt Disney World in Florida sustained injuries after a heavy prop boulder broke free from its track during a live performance, forcing a swift intervention to protect the audience.

Incident Details at Hollywood Studios

The accident occurred on Tuesday 30 December 2025 during the "Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular" at Disney's Hollywood Studios park. The show, which recreates scenes from the film "Raiders of the Lost Ark," involves a large boulder prop designed to roll on a set track.

On this occasion, the 400-pound (181-kilogram) boulder moved off its intended path and began rolling towards seated spectators. A worker attempted to stop the runaway prop but was knocked to the ground in the process. A second cast member managed to halt the boulder before it could reach the audience.

Response and Safety Review

Disney confirmed the incident in a statement on Wednesday 31 December, though it declined to specify the nature of the worker's injuries, citing privacy reasons. The company stated its primary focus was on supporting the injured employee's recovery.

"Safety is at the heart of what we do, and that element of the show will be modified as our safety team completes a review of what happened," a Disney spokesperson said. The company has launched an investigation to determine why the prop malfunctioned.

Immediate Show Modifications

The accident led to immediate changes in the show's schedule and content. One scheduled performance was cancelled on Tuesday following the incident. All shows on Wednesday were modified to exclude the boulder prop entirely while the safety review is conducted.

This event highlights the complex safety protocols required for live stunt performances at major theme parks, where elaborate props and pyrotechnics are used daily to create immersive experiences for guests.
