Emmerdale's Jaye Griffiths Hints at Corrie Crossover in 'Corriedale' Event
Emmerdale star confirms Corrie crossover appearance

In a thrilling development for soap fans, Emmerdale star Jaye Griffiths has strongly hinted that her character, the villainous Celia Daniels, will be part of the highly anticipated crossover event with Coronation Street, unofficially dubbed 'Corriedale'.

The actress teased the appearance just weeks after confirming her eventual exit from the ITV soap, suggesting her character's story is far from over.

Another Star Joins the Soap Crossover

Jaye Griffiths becomes the second Emmerdale star linked to the major crossover episode, following the confirmation that Danny Miller will reprise his role as Aaron Dingle. He is set to appear alongside Coronation Street's Lisa Swain, played by Vicky Myers.

While ITV has yet to officially announce the full cast list or plot details for the special episode, Griffiths dropped a significant hint about her involvement. When asked if viewers could expect to see Celia in Weatherfield, the actress intriguingly replied, "Watch this space. She has fingers in many, many pies."

Celia's Lonely Existence and Impending Exit

The news comes as Jaye Griffiths has recently confirmed that an exit is on the horizon for her sinister character, who is currently at the centre of a drugs operation and a shocking modern slavery plot in the village. Despite her character's crimes, the actress revealed she hopes Celia can "escape and flee" without facing a typical comeuppance.

Griffiths explained that Celia's true punishment is her profound loneliness. "Her comeuppance is she's lonely," she shared. "She has a penthouse you never see because she's never in it, she's too busy. What is her life? She doesn't have any friends and she manipulates everyone she meets and it's quite a lonely existence."

She added that Celia's pattern is to simply move on and set up her schemes elsewhere, a tactic that has worked for her in the past.

Danger Looms for the Dingles and Wolf Family

Meanwhile, in upcoming episodes, the situation in the village is set to intensify. Spoilers reveal that Celia will discover that Bear Wolf is related to Paddy Kirk, a connection that infuriates her as it breaks her own rule about not exploiting well-known locals.

The plot thickens when April Windsor confides in her father, Marlon Dingle, about her ordeal. Jaye Griffiths teased that this forces Celia to take drastic action. "Celia doesn't do threats, empty or otherwise," the actress stated. "She just states realities and consequences, and the consequence of this is now I own your family. They should be very scared."

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.
