Salah at Peace with Liverpool Exit, Says He Has More to Give

Mohamed Salah has revealed he is at peace with his decision to leave Liverpool, insisting he 'didn't become old overnight' and still has plenty to offer. The Egyptian legend will depart the Reds at the end of this season after nine trophy-laden years, during which he has broken multiple records and won every major honour.

Salah Opens Up on Gerrard Talks

In a touching interview with TNT Sport, Salah disclosed that Liverpool great Steven Gerrard visited his home in January and advised him to leave on his own terms. 'People didn't know you came to my house, we had a good conversation. You said your opinion and I really appreciate it. I am glad I am leaving now through the big door,' Salah said.

He added: 'That is something you mentioned to me, just leave on your terms, I still remember those words. I am happy about it. Everything that is going on this season makes me think, "No it's time to go".'

Physical Condition and Future Plans

The 33-year-old forward, who suffered a minor hamstring injury in Liverpool's win over Crystal Palace last Saturday, is hopeful of making at least one final appearance for the club. 'I feel good, body wise I feel all right. I didn't become old overnight. Last season I had this incredible season, I think I have a lot to give and I will see what is the best for me,' Salah said.

He continued: 'Honestly physically I feel I have a lot to give. I played many games this season. I haven't decided what I am going to do yet, I have a lot of good options. Physically I feel fine, I feel what I did over the years paid off, I feel good. I will see what is best for me. For sure, the injury is fine. I will hopefully be back (before Brentford).'

Salah's departure marks the end of an era at Anfield, with the forward having scored over 200 goals for the club and winning the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, and League Cup among other trophies.
