The Traitors star Charlotte Chilton has given birth to her first child, a baby girl named Penelope. The 33-year-old recruitment manager from Warwickshire announced the arrival on social media, stating she is enjoying a 'Penelope bubble' and will be taking time away from the public eye.
The father of the child is musician Conor Maynard, known for his Drake covers on YouTube. The pair briefly dated after meeting at a club on the night of The Traitors final. Charlotte previously revealed Maynard was the father, but he allegedly told her he was not ready to become a parent.
In a statement about her pregnancy, Charlotte said she was prepared to raise the child alone. 'I’m doing this on my own. I don’t need him. I don’t need his money. I would only want him involved if he wanted to be,' she told Metro. She added that she sent him scan pictures and messaged 'Feel free to respond whenever you're ready', but felt he was disappointed when she broached co-parenting.
Charlotte also spoke about her daughter's right to know her father. 'She deserves to know where she comes from. I’m not a secret, she’s not a dirty secret. I won’t be silenced,' she said. In an interview on Loose Women, she admitted being torn about whether Conor should be involved, citing mental health concerns but acknowledging the need to put her child first.
The baby's arrival comes after Charlotte's appearance on the hit BBC show The Traitors, where she was a contestant alongside winner Harry Clark, who is dating Conor's younger sister Anna.
