Billy Bob Thornton's Landman Season 3 Hopes: A Remarriage with Ali Larter
Billy Bob Thornton Reveals Landman Season 3 Hope

Billy Bob Thornton has exclusively revealed his hopes for a potential third season of the hit Paramount Plus drama, Landman, with his sights set firmly on a romantic reunion for his character.

A Second Chance at Marriage

In an exclusive interview, Thornton, who plays oil company crisis manager Tommy Norris, stated his clear ambition for his character's future. "I think I would just like to see Ali and I get remarried," the actor revealed. This hope follows the significant plot development in the previous season where Tommy's former wife, Angela, played by Ali Larter, left her wealthy husband to rekindle her relationship with her ex.

Their family dynamic has been a central focus, with their daughter Ainsley, portrayed by Michelle Randolph, moving back in. Their son Cooper, played by Jacob Lofland, has maintained his distance while building a life with recent widow Ariana, played by Paulina Chavez.

Deeper Character Exploration in Season 2

Thornton also provided insight into the ongoing second season, which airs weekly on Sundays on Paramount Plus. He explained that the new episodes allow for a much deeper dive into the characters now that the foundation has been laid. "In terms of characters, you're going to see a lot more this season of the family dynamic and what's really at the core of each person," Thornton said.

He elaborated, "Because in the first season, you had Taylor setting up the oil business. We had to explain the oil business, introduce all the characters and all the players in it. And now the audience knows this, so we really get to dive deep." This shift allows the series, created by Taylor Sheridan of Yellowstone fame, to explore the personal turmoil amidst the West Texas oil boom.

Mounting Pressure and Secrets in Boomtown Texas

The official synopsis for season two hints at escalating drama, stating: "In Season Two, as oil rises from the earth, so do secrets - and Tommy Norris's breaking point may be closer than he realises." It continues to warn of "mounting pressure from M-Tex Oil, Cami Miller, and the shadow of his kin," concluding that "survival in West Texas isn't noble - it's brutal."

With Tommy's circumstances having shifted dramatically from crisis manager to president of M-Tex Oil, and with Angela firmly back in his life, the stage is set for a compelling narrative that blends high-stakes business with intense personal relationships. While a third season has not been officially confirmed by Paramount Plus, Thornton's revelations and the show's popularity make its prospects look increasingly likely.
