Vanessa Feltz's Channel 5 Show Shelved After Seven Months

Vanessa Feltz's eponymous Channel 5 chat show has been taken off air after just seven months, reportedly due to low ratings. The 63-year-old broadcaster launched the programme in March as a rival to ITV's Loose Women, but it attracted only 50,000 viewers compared to Loose Women's average of half a million.

A source told The Sun: "It's been a real blow to everyone who has been working so hard to make the show a success." However, a Channel 5 spokesperson insisted the show is on a "planned pause" for the festive season, stating: "Vanessa remains an important and much-loved part of the 5 daytime line up and we're thrilled to be bringing her back in 2026."

A representative for the programme added: "Vanessa is not being axed or put on an extended break due to ratings. Vanessa will return on January 5 as planned and has already been recommissioned for 2026." The show features viewer phone-ins on sensitive topics and has hosted celebrity guests including Helen Flanagan, Adam Garcia, and Penny Lancaster.

In May, reports emerged that the show's future was "uncertain" and that "crisis talks" were taking place amid claims of a "total disaster behind-the-scenes." Despite the ratings struggle, the programme won the Talk Show gong at the National Reality TV Awards in July, beating The Graham Norton Show and The Jonathan Ross Show. Feltz said: "I'm beside myself!"
