Amber Davies Jokes About 'Aching' After Strictly Judges' Generous Christmas Scores
Amber Davies' playful Strictly Christmas special complaint

Strictly Come Dancing finalist Amber Davies has shared a light-hearted grievance with her fans, joking that she is still feeling the physical effects of the main series after watching the show's Christmas special.

A Playful TikTok Reaction

The 29-year-old West End star and former Love Island winner took to TikTok on 27 December 2025 to post a comical video of herself watching the festive edition from home. In the clip, Amber appears mock-distraught, dramatically clawing at her television screen as the judges handed out high marks to the celebrity contestants.

Alongside the video, she wrote: “Watching the Strictly Xmas special seeing the judges give out 9s & 10s when it took me ten weeks of breaking my body to get those marks.” She was quick to clarify her tone, adding in capital letters: “THIS IS JUST A JOKE. I loved watching the Xmas special. CONGRATULATIONS my babies Scarlett Moffatt and Vito Coppola.”

Fan Support and the Festive Rulebook

Followers were quick to engage with her humorous post. One fan commented: “Honestly the only acceptable reaction,” while another added: “This is so funny. You did brilliant and deserved so many more 10s.” Others pointed out the long-standing tradition of the Strictly judges being more lenient during the one-off Christmas show, with remarks like: “They're always soft on the Christmas episode,” and “Of course the Christmas is more laid back!”

The Physical and Emotional Toll of Strictly

Despite her background in musical theatre, Amber has been vocal about the immense physical demands of the BBC competition. Earlier in December, she revealed that she and her professional partner Nikita Kuzmin abandoned a dangerous salsa move that involved her standing on his shoulders before dropping into the splits, deeming it too risky for the live show.

The experience also took a significant emotional toll. As the series neared its end, Amber became tearful discussing the conclusion of her time in the Strictly “bubble”. She shared: “I'm such a crier at the minute because I just love it so much... The Strictly bubble is bursting, it came into my life with a vengeance and now it feels like it's leaving just as quickly.”

Although she faced some criticism for her prior dance experience, Amber has spoken positively about the overwhelming support from viewers, thanking fans for their kindness after reaching the final. She also praised her fellow contestants, including semi-finalist Balvinder, and said she was rooting for finalists George Clarke and Karen Carney.
