Olympic champion Adam Peaty has publicly addressed the painful rift with his family, confirming his mother is no longer invited to his upcoming Christmas wedding to Holly Ramsay. The 30-year-old swimmer broke his silence this week, expressing his hurt over the situation while standing by his sister Bethany, who remains his sole family ally.
The Wedding Guest List Controversy
The family drama erupted just weeks before Peaty is set to marry television chef Gordon Ramsay's 25-year-old daughter. Only one member from Adam's side of the family - his sister Bethany - is expected to attend the nuptials. Bethany serves as one of Holly's bridesmaids, highlighting the close bond between the siblings amid the family turmoil.
A family friend revealed that Bethany has become "really taken with the celebrity lifestyle" surrounding the Ramsay family. "She's had her head turned by all the glitz and glamour," the insider told The Sun. "She was over the moon to be at the hen party, hanging out with Victoria Beckham and couldn't wait to tell all her friends about it."
Breaking His Silence
In an emotional statement issued on behalf of himself, his sister, and his fiancée, Peaty accused certain family members of encouraging false claims about them. "This has been deeply hurtful and upsetting to read, especially given the false basis upon which we have been targeted," the Olympic gold medallist wrote.
The swimmer referenced an ongoing police investigation into "serious matters that arose long before recent events" as reason for not providing more detail. He emphasised that there are "always two sides to every story" while thanking supporters for their understanding.

The conflict gained public attention when Adam's aunt, Louise Williams, criticised Holly for not inviting his mother Caroline to her hen do. Caroline Peaty subsequently spoke out about her heartbreak, directly addressing her son: "I know it's the end.
