A new poll conducted for the language learning platform Babbel has unveiled the top 10 accent rankings for both America and Europe, highlighting how accents play a pivotal role in the dating scene. The survey, which involved 2,000 U.S. adults, found that Southern American English, spoken in states like Texas, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, the Carolinas, Tennessee, and Arkansas, is considered the sexiest accent in the United States. This regional dialect topped the list, giving speakers a notable advantage in dating scenarios.
Following closely in second place is Louisiana or Cajun English, known for its unique blend of French and Southern influences. New York City English secured the third spot, recognized for its distinctive urban cadence. Rounding out the top five are Miami English, which incorporates Latino influences, and General American, a neutral accent prevalent in the Midwest, Pacific Northwest, and parts of the West Coast.
