Countryfile star Adam Henson has clarified his future on the farm and the BBC show, stating he still has at least a decade left on his tenancy. The 60-year-old, who took over the Cotswold Farm Park from his father Joe, told Cotswold Life that he remains committed to the family-run business, which employs 180 people.
Henson admitted that when his tenancy ends in 12 years, he and his wife Charlie plan to move to a bungalow near Winchcombe, keeping a few sheep and dogs. He previously described this as the 'end of an era', but emphasised that he still enjoys his role on Countryfile and the opportunity to learn from other farms.
In a separate interview, Henson spoke about the support network that has helped him through difficult times, including his wife's illness, the deaths of his parents and a nephew, and challenges like foot-and-mouth disease and Covid. He credited his family and colleagues for maintaining his upbeat outlook.
Henson also touched on the farm's success, noting that he surrounds himself with capable people. He expressed hope for balanced weather this year, avoiding the extremes of last year's heatwave and 2024's wet conditions.
