Legendary supermodel Cindy Crawford and her rising-star daughter Kaia Gerber have bravely shared their distressing experiences with early-career nude photoshoots in a revealing new interview.
The mother-daughter duo, both icons in the fashion world, opened up about the psychological impact of being pressured into nude modeling at young ages during their appearance on the Apple TV+ series The Super Models.
A Mother's Protective Instinct
Cindy, 57, recalled her own traumatic experience being photographed nude at just 17 years old. "I was still a minor, and those images were published in a French magazine," she revealed. The supermodel admitted these early experiences shaped how she later protected Kaia from similar situations.
"When Kaia started modeling, I made sure she had proper chaperones and that she understood her rights," Crawford explained. "The industry has changed, but there's still so much work to be done."
Kaia's Own Struggles
Kaia, now 22, shared her own uncomfortable encounters with photographers pushing boundaries. "There were moments early in my career where I felt pressured to do things I wasn't comfortable with," Gerber confessed. "Having my mom's guidance helped me set boundaries."
