86 Bank Closures in June 2026: NatWest, Lloyds, Halifax, BoS

More bank customers will face the closure of their local branch in June as some of Britain's biggest high street banks change the way they deliver services. Financial giants Santander and NatWest announced earlier this year that they are shutting scores of branches as customers increasingly use online banking.

Santander Closures

Santander has closed all branches scheduled for 2026, with 40 shutting permanently. Four more closures are planned but without firm dates, all to occur by the end of January 2027.

NatWest, Lloyds, Halifax, Bank of Scotland

NatWest and Lloyds Group are closing dozens of branches across the UK. A total of 86 confirmed closures are scheduled across the four banks, with the next wave starting this week.
