Violence erupted in Belfast on Tuesday night following protests against immigration, which were sparked by a stabbing attack captured in a graphic video.
Police Charge Asylum Seeker
Police have charged a 30-year-old asylum seeker from Sudan with attempted murder in connection with an attack in north Belfast on Monday night. The incident left a man critically injured and prompted widespread condemnation. The suspect is scheduled to appear at Belfast Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
Rioting and Destruction
Crowds, including individuals wearing masks and hoods, burned vehicles and properties across various locations in the city. The unrest occurred hours after Elon Musk, Tommy Robinson, and other agitators called for demonstrations.
In one incident near Shankill Road, a group stormed a home that appeared to be occupied by a family from an ethnic minority background, claiming to be "liberating" it.
