Saturday night's National Lottery Lotto draw was delayed due to a technical glitch during the live broadcast, leaving viewers frustrated. The draw abruptly cut out before the bonus ball was drawn at around 8pm, with a message citing technical issues.
Operator Allwyn confirmed the delay, stating that the bonus ball had not dropped. The draw was paused and later resumed using an alternative machine under the supervision of an independent adjudicator. The winning numbers were eventually released just after 10.45pm.
No ticket-holders matched all six main numbers for the top prize, resulting in a rollover. The estimated jackpot for Wednesday's draw is £12.3 million. One player matched five numbers and the bonus ball to win £1 million, while 82 players won £1,750 each for matching five numbers.
The winning Lotto numbers were 04, 09, 28, 40, 42, 59, with a bonus ball of 55. In the Thunderball draw, the numbers were 09, 11, 13, 28, 34 and the Thunderball was 13, with no top prize winner.
Viewers expressed anger on social media, with some noting this was the second glitch in weeks, following a similar fault on the EuroMillions draw on October 10. The National Lottery apologised for the delay.
