Interestingly, Newcastle United's assistant manager Liam Rosenior revealed that Tierney had actually discussed Chelsea's tendency to form a huddle during their pre-match meeting. This indicates the referee was fully aware it was going to happen. Therefore, his insistence on standing right in the middle of it remains utterly perplexing and indefensible.
Player Reactions and Perceptions
From a Newcastle player's perspective, witnessing the match official embedded within the opposition's huddle would likely provoke feelings of frustration and anger.
