Tess Daly's Daily Diet & Fitness Secrets For Ageless Figure At 56
Tess Daly reveals diet and fitness secrets for ageless figure

Strictly Come Dancing presenter Tess Daly has revealed the exact daily diet and fitness routine that maintains her incredible figure at 56 years old.

The Three-Meal Daily Diet Plan

In a new video with vitamin company Vitabiotics, where she has fronted the Wellwoman supplement campaigns for years, Tess provided a detailed breakdown of her three meals per day. The television star emphasised she never skips breakfast, typically enjoying Greek yoghurt with berries, seeds including flax and pumpkin for fibre, and sometimes sliced banana.

For lunch, Tess ensures she gets adequate protein to power through her busy schedule. She often chooses something like a tuna mayonnaise wrap with fresh salad, describing it as a "decent lunch" that keeps her going throughout the afternoon.

Dinner is the meal Tess most looks forward to, where she makes an effort to cook something special. Her evening meals frequently feature tuna in teriyaki sauce or roasted salmon with chilli, coriander and lime, accompanied by sweet potatoes and plenty of vegetables.

Balanced Approach to Snacks and Treats

Tess openly admits to having a sweet tooth and doesn't deprive herself of occasional indulgences. She confessed she needs "a bit of chocolate on a daily basis" and believes everyone deserves small pleasures in life.

"I love healthy whole foods but I also love naughty snacks occasionally and I think why not," Tess said in the clip. The presenter maintains that while she prioritises nutritious meals for her family, she balances this with well-deserved treats.

Varied Fitness Regime Beyond Dieting

Back in July, Tess insisted her ageless beauty comes from maintaining fitness rather than strict dieting. She revealed she still fits into the same size jeans she wore in her 20s, attributing this to consistent exercise rather than deprivation.

The former model has developed several innovative ways to stay fit, including running on the treadmill while watching her favourite Netflix shows. She told Women's Health UK in 2021: "I've got a treadmill, where I've realised I can watch Netflix and run 5k at the same time. I would never sit down and watch TV in the day but, on the treadmill, I can justify it."

Her fitness routine also includes morning skipping circuits, which she describes as "joyful" exercise that reminds her of childhood, and trampolining in her back garden to boost circulation and lymphatic system function.

Yoga as a Game Changer

Tess credits daily yoga with keeping her both physically fit and mentally well. She told The Daily Mail in 2021: "For me personally, I do an online yoga class every morning, 20 minutes, which is a little act of self-love as well. A game changer for me has been doing yoga. It keeps you young, it keeps you flexible, it keeps away the aches and pains."

The presenter also incorporates planks into her daily routine, recognising that core strength becomes increasingly important with age, especially given her height and the amount of time she spends in heels while presenting Strictly.

Despite being in her 50s, Tess maintains she feels as energetic as she did in her 20s, proving that her combination of balanced nutrition, varied exercise and occasional treats provides the perfect formula for lasting health and vitality.
