A Polish social media influencer has raised more than £52.5 million through a nine-day, non-stop online stream that featured celebrity guests including Coldplay's Chris Martin, tennis star Iga Świątek, and footballer Robert Lewandowski. The fundraiser supported the Cancer Fighters foundation, which aids children battling cancer.
The 23-year-old influencer, known as Łatwogang, streamed from a studio flat in Warsaw, playing the charity song 'I'm still here' on loop for nine days. The track, recorded by Polish rapper Bedoes 2115 with 11-year-old cancer patient Maja Mecan, is a rap diss track aimed at cancer. Maja, who has experienced three relapses, delivers the chorus: 'I'm still here / Did you think you had me? / I'm still here / We laugh in your face / I'm still here / And I'm not going anywhere.'
Celebrity guests joined the stream, recreating viral hits and pop culture moments. Chris Martin sent a video performing an improvised keyboard song with the Polish word for 'pushing' the total further. Speed skater Vladimir Semirunniy donated his Olympic silver medal and shaved his head in solidarity, as did many others. Robert Lewandowski donated over £200,000, and Iga Świątek contributed more than £20,000 along with two tickets to her Wimbledon match.
Despite an initial goal of £102,000, the stream became one of YouTube's highest-ever fundraising events. By Monday morning, the total exceeded £52.5 million, with over 1.5 million viewers watching the finale live. Łatwogang and Bedoes 2115 thanked supporters on Instagram, urging media to publicise the fundraiser and the message that 'cancer is not a death sentence.' The Cancer Fighters foundation has promised full public accounting of all funds on a dedicated website.
