Ruth Langsford has revealed that she turned to counselling to help her cope with her separation from ex-husband Eamonn Holmes. The couple, who co-hosted ITV's This Morning, announced their divorce in May 2024 after 27 years together, 14 of which were spent married.
Speaking to Women & Home magazine, Langsford said: 'I started counselling when Eamonn and I separated, and I'm still having it. It is very powerful and very useful. It gives me tools to deal with things.' She added that her counsellor does not judge her and helps her question her feelings.
The 65-year-old described the final stages of the relationship as involving a lot of 'unravelling' and acknowledged the strain of going through a separation in the public eye. She remains open to finding love again but is not actively looking, saying she has realised she is 'quite good on my own'.
Holmes, 64, moved out of the family home in Weybridge after the split and is now dating relationship therapist Katie Alexander, who is 22 years his junior. The couple have yet to finalise their divorce as they work through financial arrangements, including the potential sale of the marital home.
Earlier this week, Langsford appeared to make a subtle dig at Holmes during a Loose Women panel discussion. When panellist Myleene Klass remarked that women 'live longer when they aren't' married, Langsford smirked and replied: 'Good to know.'
