Lambrini Girls Cancel Coachella After Singer's Brain Injury

British punk duo Lambrini Girls have withdrawn from Coachella after lead singer Phoebe Lunny suffered a fractured neck and acute brain injury. The band announced the news on Instagram on Thursday, explaining that Lunny's condition was initially misdiagnosed while she was in Australia, leading to delayed treatment.

Lunny stated that doctors have prohibited her from flying or performing for six weeks, forcing the cancellation of their Coachella slot and the rescheduling of their entire US headline tour. However, she confirmed that their UK and EU shows scheduled from June onwards will proceed as planned.

In her post, Lunny expressed disappointment, saying she and bassist Lilly Macieira were “gutted” to miss the festival. She noted that if it were a broken leg, she would have followed Dave Grohl's example, but the nature of her injuries left them with no choice. She also addressed American fans, emphasising the band's commitment to creating spaces for subversion and resistance.

Former White Stripes frontman Jack White will replace Lambrini Girls in their scheduled Saturday slot at the Mojave tent. The Brighton-based band, formed in 2021, released their debut album Who Let the Dogs Out in 2025, which peaked at number 16 on the UK Albums chart.
