Vernon Kay has proven that his split from Tess Daly has been one of the friendliest in the entertainment industry after he complimented his now ex-wife on a recent social media post.

Vernon Kay was quick to support his ex-wife Tess Daly after she shared photos from a trip abroad with their daughter. Former Strictly Come Dancing presenter Tess, 57, recently traveled to New York with her lookalike daughter, Phoebe, and posted a series of pictures from their getaway on Instagram.
Earlier this year, Tess and Vernon, 52, surprised fans when they announced their decision to separate and pursue a divorce. The couple, once considered a golden pair in showbiz, had been married for 22 years before making the announcement.
While many divorcing couples engage in bitter disputes, Vernon and Tess have taken a different path. The Radio 2 star showed his support for Tess with an affectionate comment on her post.
New York Reunion
After reuniting with Phoebe, 21, who lives in the United States, Tess shared several snapshots from their outings in New York City, including a visit to the famous Black Seed Bagels eatery.
Captioning her post, Tess wrote: "NYC with my best girls #HelloGorgeous." Her ex-husband, Vernon, responded: "What a few days," accompanied by a red heart and a fire emoji. Phoebe added: "Love you the best time ever."
Joint Statement
Last month, the couple released a joint statement saying: "After much consideration, and with a deep sense of care and respect for one another, we have made the decision to separate amicably. This has not been an easy choice, but it comes from a place of mutual understanding and a shared desire for what is best for both of us. We remain great friends and most importantly, fully committed to our roles as loving and supportive parents, which will always be our priority. There are no other parties involved in this decision. We kindly ask for privacy during this time as we navigate this transition together. We will not be making any further public comments. Tess and Vernon."
Straightforward Divorce
A source later claimed that the former couple will not need to battle against each other and that the divorce will be straightforward. Both Vernon and Tess have been clever with their BBC incomes and are individually well-off, meaning they do not need to fight over assets.
"Compared to the majority of showbiz splits, this is rather straightforward," the source told the Daily Mail. Vernon is reportedly paid £395,000 for his role on BBC Radio 2, making him one of the highest-paid presenters there. Meanwhile, Tess, as co-host of Strictly Come Dancing, was said to earn around £400,000, supplemented by income from her swimwear brand NAIA Beach.
Family Support
Vernon's father also commented on the split, confirming there is no bad blood between his son and ex-wife. "Of course, it's sad when people split up, and we're all very fond of Tess; they made a lovely couple," he told the Daily Mail.
He explained that Vernon and Tess had gone in different directions with their lives, which can sometimes lead to better things. "This is one of those cases," he said. "Tess is a lovely woman, and we want to make sure everyone is all right in this - her, Vernon and obviously our grandchildren."
