Destiny 2 developer Bungie is finally ready to bid farewell to the long-running shooter with the release of its last content update. The final Destiny 2 update ever, titled Monument of Triumph, will be available to download during a period of server downtime on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. After the update, Bungie will be retiring seasonal events such as Solstice, Festival of the Lost, The Dawning, and Guardian Games.
Release Date and Server Downtime
Monument of Triumph has a June 9 release date on PC and consoles. The content officially goes live at 6pm BST UK time, which is 10am PT or 1pm ET in the US, and 7pm CET in Europe. However, fans must endure server downtime before the update becomes playable. The downtime begins at 1pm BST on June 9, with players being removed from activities at 1.30pm BST. Downtime ends at 6pm BST, although Bungie notes that players may experience queues or sign-on issues as background maintenance continues.
"Players logging into the game may be placed in a queue and may experience sign-on issues as background maintenance is still ongoing," Bungie explains.
