Tate McRae Dating NHL's Jack Hughes? Rumours Fly

Internet detectives are buzzing with speculation that Canadian pop sensation Tate McRae may have found love with another professional hockey player. The rumours suggest she is now seeing New Jersey Devils star Jack Hughes, nearly three years after her split from former NHL boyfriend Cole Sillinger.

Dinner Date Sparks Romance Rumours

Pictures that first surfaced on the gossip Instagram account Deuxmoi appear to show the 22-year-old singer at dinner with the 24-year-old hockey player. The alleged encounter took place at Anton's, a restaurant in Manhattan's West Village, last week. In the circulating photos, the man believed to be Hughes is seen with his hand in a cast.

Jack Hughes is currently sidelined for up to eight weeks after suffering a hand injury. The Devils described the incident as a 'freak accident' that occurred during a team dinner, where he cut his hand on broken glass, requiring surgery on his finger.

McRae's History with NHL Stars

This is not the first time Tate McRae has been linked to a professional hockey player. She was previously in a relationship with Columbus Blue Jackets centre Cole Sillinger. Their romance began in late 2021, shortly after Sillinger, who was drafted as the No. 12 pick in the 2021 NHL Draft, had called McRae his 'celebrity crush'.

The pair were set up on a date by a mutual connection and were together until early 2023. Their split was accompanied by internet rumours accusing Sillinger of cheating on the pop star, claims he publicly denied in February 2024. Commenting on a social media post summarising the accusations, Sillinger stated: 'All false my guy.'

Following her split from Sillinger, McRae briefly dated Australian artist The Kid LAROI, but that relationship ended in July.

What's Next for the Alleged Couple?

As for Jack Hughes, the hockey star is in the early stages of a massive eight-year, $64 million contract with the New Jersey Devils. Before his injury, he had started the season in brilliant form, registering 10 goals and 20 points in his first 17 games.

While neither McRae nor Hughes has officially confirmed the relationship, the online speculation continues to build, marking a potential new chapter in the singer's well-documented connections to the world of professional ice hockey.
