The venue for Tyson Fury’s latest comeback has been confirmed, as the former world heavyweight champion prepares to emerge from retirement for the fifth time. On 11 April, Fury will take on Russia’s Arslanbek Makhmudov at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, a venue familiar to the Briton.
Fury, 37, will box Makhmudov, 36, in his first fight since back-to-back losses to Oleksandr Usyk in 2024. The 62,000-capacity stadium previously hosted Fury’s successful title defence against Derek Chisora in December 2022 and Anthony Joshua’s first defeat by Usyk.
A press conference for the bout is scheduled for Monday at the stadium, with tickets going on sale on Tuesday via Ticketmaster. “Come on! Tottenham, here we come,” Fury said in a social-media video on Friday. “Monday, presser. Let’s go, baby.”
April’s contest will be Fury’s first fight on home soil since the Chisora clash, following three bouts in Saudi Arabia. In 2023, Fury survived a knockdown to outpoint ex-UFC champion Francis Ngannou in Riyadh, where his two fights with Usyk also took place.
Makhmudov, 36, enters the fight on a points win over Dave Allen in October. The Russian is 3-2 in his last five bouts but had never lost prior to a 2023 stoppage by Agit Kabayel.
