Television personality Ruby Wax launched into a furious, hunger-fuelled rant directed at a sleeping Kelly Brook during Tuesday night's episode of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! The mental health campaigner, newly appointed as camp leader, demanded to know why her beans weren't ready, culminating in a shocking outburst.
From Leader to 'Hangry' Tyrant
The drama unfolded after Ruby, 70, was given the luxurious tree house accommodation following her promotion to camp leader. This role was handed to her after EastEnders star Shona McGarty, 35, was stripped of the title for using contraband. However, the power and hunger quickly took their toll. Sitting with Emmerdale's Lisa Riley, 49, and Twitch streamer Ginge, 24, Ruby used the camp tannoy to bark orders.
"Are the beans ready? Attention. Are the beans ready? Why is everybody sleeping? Get up!" she demanded. Fellow campmate Tom Read Wilson tried to placate her, explaining, "Darling, they're on. But they weren't soaked until late this morning!" An unimpressed Ruby shot back: "They should be ready by now."
The Sleeping Target and Viewer Backlash
Ruby's irritation soon found a specific target. She noticed that model and presenter Kelly Brook was still fast asleep and not helping with meal preparations. Without hesitation, Ruby pointedly shouted across the camp, "Kelly! Cook some beans, somebody!" The moment highlighted the intense pressure and frayed tempers in the jungle camp.
This behaviour did not go unnoticed by viewers at home. Many took to social media platform X to declare that Ruby had "let the power go to her head" just a day after criticising Shona for doing the same. One viewer wrote, "Ruby was unbearable now they've made her camp leader and she's worse than unbearable I can't stand her," while another noted, "So, Ruby has a go at Shona for her making an outfit... and now she's doing the same???"
Jungle Exit and Continuing Drama
The episode also saw the second celebrity departure from the competition. Comedian Eddie Kadi, 42, found himself in the bottom two alongside model Vogue Williams. Hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly announced that Eddie had received the fewest public votes, sending him out of the jungle. This followed the exit of Vogue Williams on Monday night.
