Reality Star Collapses After Rejection on Dating Show

Things took a dramatic turn in a recent episode of the hit Australian show The Farmer Wants A Wife, as one contestant collapsed on set. The moment happened when farmer Jason decided he wouldn't choose a select number of participants on the dating show to continue getting to know. One of those included 31-year-old Bene, a customer service worker who was hopeful of winning Jason's heart on the programme.

Rejection Leads to Medical Emergency

After the 37-year-old farmer had been on first dates with the women on the show, he had nothing but kind words when turning some of them down. He commented: 'I want to thank you guys for being a part of this. I really enjoyed meeting you, and I wish you luck.' Although all seemed well at first, with Bene thanking Jason for the date and telling him that he had made a 'good decision', things took a turn. When she went for a final hug, Bene began to stumble as it was clear she had started to become unwell, as TV host Natalie Gruzlewski asked: 'Are you okay?'

Bene told the Australian presenter 'no' as she touched her head before dropping to the floor while Jason and the other female stars on the show tried to catch her. Natalie quickly shouted, 'We need a medic!' as medical assistance then arrived on set and tended to her.

Contestant Speaks Out After Embarrassing Fall

Later on, Bene confirmed that she'd collapsed as she went on to brand her on-screen fall as 'the most embarrassing thing.' Speaking about the incident to Woman's Day, Bene assured people that nothing was seriously wrong and it wasn't anything to worry about. She commented: 'Everyone was amazing – they grabbed water, sugar, everything straight away. It was just the embarrassment, really.'

The 31-year-old added that the on-screen faint was due to months of build-up that viewers don't get to see. Bene added: 'You see five, ten minutes on the show, but what you don't see is the literal months that went into even just getting on the plane to go to filming. As soon as I clocked that Jason had picked his five and I wasn't one of them, my brain was disappointed, but my body got that relief that we can stop running on adrenaline – and down I went.'
