Singer and fashion mogul Jessica Simpson is embracing the festive season with her children as she moves forward from her separation from former NFL player Eric Johnson earlier this year.
A Festive Family Moment
The 45-year-old star recently posted a heartwarming holiday snapshot on Instagram, featuring her three children posing in front of a beautifully decorated Christmas tree. Her daughters, Maxwell Drew, 13, and Birdie Mae, 6, and son, Ace Knute, 12, beamed for the camera in the seasonal post.
"Christmas time is here!" Simpson wrote in the caption. "What the month of December brings to my kiddos has always been about the genuine feelings of love, excitement, hope, happiness, grace and pure JOY!" She added a warm message to her followers, saying, "Wishin’ you and yours all the many blessings this month has to offer y’all’s hearts."
The post was met with an outpouring of support from fans, who flooded the comments with messages like "lil copy & paste angels" and "Adorable family, Happy Holidays Jessica." Others remarked on the children's beauty and their readiness for the festive season.
Navigating Life After Separation
This holiday season marks Simpson's first since announcing her separation from Eric Johnson in January, after a decade of marriage. In a statement released at the time, Simpson clarified that she and Johnson had been living separately while navigating a difficult period in their relationship.
"Our children come first, and we are focusing on what is best for them," she stated. "We are grateful for all of the love and support that has been coming our way, and appreciate privacy right now as we work through this as a family."
Despite the announcement nearly a year ago, the pair have not yet filed for divorce. Simpson has hinted at potential turmoil in the marriage through her music, notably in her single 'Leave', released on March 7. Lyrics such as "Giving her what you gave to me" and "Did you do to her what you did to me" suggested possible infidelity.
Focus on Family and Self-Discovery
Putting their differences aside, the former couple is now concentrated on effective co-parenting. In a candid interview, Simpson admitted she never envisioned being "single again as a mom of three" at this stage in her life. "That was not how I planned it," she confessed. "But it's just a part of what destiny holds for me."
Simpson has channelled this period of change into a journey of self-discovery, which she says is reflected in her new fragrance, Mystic Canyon. She described this chapter as being "about coming home to myself" and embracing independence without external judgement.
Looking ahead, the star has also expressed openness to dating again. In a July interview, when asked if she was interested in being set up, she enthusiastically replied, "I'd totally jump on that. Yes, I'm single - very into like, very … I'm ready!" She described her ideal partner as someone confident without ego, who values mutual independence.
For now, however, Simpson's priority remains her family, ensuring her children experience the magic and joy of the holiday season as she steps into a new chapter of her life.
