Oklahoma Campground Shooting Injures 23 at Arcadia Lake

A mass shooting at a campground in Oklahoma has left at least 23 people injured, according to local health officials. The incident occurred on Sunday evening at Spring Creek Park on Arcadia Lake, about 15 miles north-east of downtown Oklahoma City.

Police said no arrests have been made, and the heavily wooded area is hampering the search for evidence and a suspect. Emily Ward, an Edmond police department spokesperson, described the situation as 'very terrifying' and confirmed that officers are speaking with victims and witnesses across the metro area.

Ten victims were taken to hospital by ambulance, while others drove themselves. As of Monday morning, Integris Health Baptist medical centre in Oklahoma City was treating 10 people, and three were at Integris Health Edmond hospital. Officials at Integris Health and OU Health reported treating a total of 23 people.

A witness, Armani Kessee, told local media that he helped a female victim who was hit by a stray bullet. A social media flyer had promoted an event called 'Sunday Funday' at the park on the evening of the shooting. The Gun Violence Archive has classified this as the 131st mass shooting in the US this year.
