Jack Osbourne Has Ozzy's 'Blessing' for I'm A Celeb Amid Grief
Jack Osbourne Has Ozzy's 'Blessing' for I'm A Celeb

Jack Osbourne is taking part in I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! with the full posthumous blessing of his legendary father, Ozzy Osbourne, despite some public debate over the timing of his appearance.

Ozzy's Final Words of Encouragement

In his memoir, Last Rites, which was published two months after his death in July 2025, the Black Sabbath icon left poignant advice for his children. Ozzy wrote in the book's final chapter, reflecting on how quickly life passes. "I say to my kids, get out there, travel, do your thing," he urged, adding, "Life's so short."

These heartfelt comments have come to light as Jack, 40, faces the jungle challenge less than four months after his father's passing. The decision sparked commentary, but it is now clear the young Osbourne has his dad's philosophical backing to embrace life's adventures.

Family Support and On-Screen Emotion

Beyond his father's written words, Jack also confirmed he had the full support of his mother, Sharon, and sister, Kelly, before entering the ITV series. His wife, Aree, also spoke publicly at Brisbane Airport, acknowledging it was a "very difficult time in his life" but that participating in the show was "helpful."

Ozzy's memoir also contained a touching tribute to his son, describing Jack as a "great guy" and expressing admiration for his strength in maintaining sobriety after teenage drug troubles. The father and son had previously collaborated on their travel show, Ozzy & Jack's World Detour.

On screen, Jack's grief has been visible. He was seen getting emotional and crying on the shoulder of fellow campmate Eddie Kadi. Jack later explained that the day had been particularly "delicate" as it marked four months since his dad died. Despite the difficult moments, he affirmed, "I'm really happy I'm here."

Public Debate and ITV's Duty of Care

The timing of Jack's participation has not been without controversy. TV presenter Alison Hammond questioned his appearance on I'm A Celebrity: Unpacked, stating she felt "it's too soon for him to be in the jungle" and that she found his visible pain "quite painful" to watch.

Radio 1 host Dean McCullough echoed this sentiment, noting the jungle is a "volatile, nerve-wracking place" and suggesting Jack might need more time to grieve. In response to these concerns, an ITV spokesperson confirmed that the network is closely monitoring Jack as part of its strict duty of care protocols for all contestants.

Jack is not alone in navigating loss in the camp, as other celebrities have also spoken about losing parents, creating a shared understanding of grief. His love for the outdoors is also seen as a positive factor in his jungle experience.
