Carey's twins with Nick Cannon reunite after sibling remark

Nick Cannon has shared a series of festive family photos featuring his eldest children, twins Monroe and Moroccan Cannon, whom he shares with ex-wife Mariah Carey. The images come just weeks after Monroe made a rare public comment about her father's expansive family, clarifying she has 'one brother'.

Festive Family Gathering After Public Remarks

The 45-year-old television host and comedian posted the cheerful snaps to his main Instagram page on Monday, showcasing a bonding session with several of his children. The group, which included his 14-year-old twins, posed in front of lavishly decorated Christmas trees inside what appeared to be Cannon's home.

In the caption, he wrote 'Cannon Family Vibes' to his 6.8 million followers. Monroe engaged with the post in the comments, sharing a GIF from the film Elf featuring Will Ferrell's character exclaiming 'Santa's coming!'. Her twin brother, Moroccan, also commented, writing 'Finna be white this winter man.'

The Context of Monroe's Earlier Statement

This family moment follows a notable incident in November when Monroe took to her Instagram Stories to address public curiosity about her siblings. 'Clearing something up guys!' she wrote. 'I only have ONE brother who is @moroccan.cannon. I do have other half-siblings from my dad but they are all many, many years younger than me!'

Cannon, who was married to Mariah Carey from 2008 until their divorce was finalised in 2016, has a total of 12 children. Alongside Monroe and Moroccan, his family includes:

  • Golden Sagon, 8, Rise Messiah, 2, and Powerful Queen, 4, with Brittany Bell.
  • Twins Zion and Zillion, 4, and daughter Beautiful Zeppelin, 3, with Abby De La Rosa.
  • Legendary, 3, with Bre Tiesi.
  • Onyx, 3, with LaNisha Cole.
  • Halo, almost 3, with Alyssa Scott.

The pair also tragically lost a son, Zen, who passed away at five months old after a battle with brain cancer.

Navigating Co-Parenting and Public Scrutiny

The dynamics of Cannon's large family and his relationship with his famous ex-wife have long been a topic of public interest. In a July interview with Harper's Bazaar, Carey offered rare insight into their co-parenting arrangement. 'How do I say this? They spend time with him, and they have a good time; they spend time with me, and they have a good time,' the singer stated. 'I want to make sure I'm always fair about the situation because it's tough to grow up with divorced parents.'

However, in September, Carey was more reserved when asked about Cannon on CBS Mornings, telling host Gayle King, 'I kind of feel like it's best if I don't talk about him, because he can just be in his own world. No offense to him.'

That same month, Cannon offered a deeply personal reflection on his path to fatherhood, suggesting his divorce from Carey triggered unresolved trauma. 'I just didn't do the work. So then I looked up, 12 kids later, and I'm like, "Wow, I could have did things differently,"' he said on The Breakfast Club. He admitted to being 'careless' and 'frivolous' in the past, but emphasised his love for all his children and his ongoing therapeutic work.

Despite the complexities, the bond between Cannon and his eldest twins appears strong. Back in June, both Monroe and Moroccan shared heartfelt tributes to him for Father's Day on their Instagram pages, praising him as the 'best dad in the whole world'.
