In a poignant display of familial love amidst a well-publicised rift, Jackie Adams, the mother of Victoria Beckham, has ensured her grandson Brooklyn will be remembered this Christmas, despite his self-imposed exile from the family.
The Stockings Were Hung By The Chimney With Care
Victoria Beckham shared a video on Instagram this Friday, offering a glimpse into her mother's festive preparations. The footage showed a tasteful arrangement of identical red stockings pinned to a stone chimney breast. Among them were stockings for all of Victoria and David's children: Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz, and Harper, placed alongside those for their cousins.
This gesture is particularly significant given Brooklyn's notable absence from every key family event this year. The 24-year-old influencer, who lives in Los Angeles with his wife, actress Nicola Peltz, missed his father's landmark 50th birthday celebration and his recent investiture at Windsor Castle.
A Grandmother's Unwavering Love
Friends of the family reveal that the estrangement is hardest on the grandmothers. Both Jackie Adams and David's mother, Sandra, are said to be 'very sad' about the situation, having been exceptionally close to Brooklyn during his childhood.
A source close to the family explained, 'David and Victoria are making peace with not having Brooklyn around, they are sad but they are having to accept it. But it’s the grandmothers. They adore Brooklyn... but now they don’t see him.'
The source added a sombre note, highlighting that 'nobody knows when they will see Brooklyn next,' a reality that is especially difficult given their age.
Deepening Rifts and Missed Milestones
The schism appears to have widened earlier this year when Brooklyn and Nicola renewed their wedding vows without informing either Jackie or Sandra, leaving both grandmothers 'very surprised'.
Further underscoring the divide, the couple were absent from the London premiere for Victoria's Netflix docuseries in October, an event which saw the rest of the family gather in support.
Despite the tension, Jackie Adams has made public efforts to maintain a connection. In October, she commented on one of Brooklyn's cooking tutorials, where he prepared a beef wellington. Her message was simple and heartfelt: 'That looks amazing Brooklyn. Lots of love.'
While Victoria has spoken vaguely about 'changing dynamics' within her 'close family,' she has not directly addressed the rift with her eldest son. As Christmas approaches, it seems the festive spirit of goodwill is being tested, but a grandmother's love, as evidenced by a simple red stocking, remains steadfast.
