I'm A Celebrity's AngryGinge's Emotional Tribute to Mum Who Worked 3 Jobs
AngryGinge's emotional jungle tribute to his hardworking mum

In a deeply moving moment on Thursday's episode of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!, YouTube sensation AngryGinge delivered an emotional tribute to his mother, revealing she was the driving force behind his jungle perseverance.

Surprising Common Ground With Alex Scott

The 24-year-old gamer, whose real name is Morgan Sam Lee Burtwistle, found unexpected common ground with fellow campmate Alex Scott, the 41-year-old football pundit. During their conversation about their careers, AngryGinge opened up about his journey into streaming, sharing his belief that "hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard."

This philosophy resonated strongly with Alex, who revealed she often felt she "wasn't supposed to make it" to play for England but knew that outworking everyone else could make it possible. This exchange sparked AngryGinge to highlight their remarkably similar backgrounds.

Working Class Roots and Mother's Sacrifice

Both celebrities were raised on working-class council estates, with AngryGinge growing up in Eccles, Manchester and Alex spending her childhood in East London. "We've got no problems getting our hands stuck in, because that's what we've had to do from being little to where we are now," AngryGinge told his campmate.

The conversation then turned to AngryGinge's mother, Michelle, who raised him as a single parent. He emotionally described watching her work relentlessly to provide for him, often holding down three separate jobs throughout the day.

"She'd finish her first job, and then she'd go and finish that and then go to her second job then go to her third job and then get home," he explained to Alex. This powerful example of dedication became his primary motivation in the jungle, with AngryGinge declaring: "If she can do it then I can do this in the jungle, so that's what keeps me going really."

Emotional Jungle Journey

AngryGinge's family has been a recurring theme during his time in the Australian jungle. Earlier in the week, viewers saw him become visibly upset while looking at a framed picture of his loved ones. In the Bush Telegraph, he admitted: "It's a bit of a s**t day really, I just feel as though I'm missing home, missing speaking to my family."

The emotional impact has been felt beyond the jungle too. On Wednesday, it was revealed that his mother Michelle broke down in tears after watching her son's emotional scenes. She told Daily Mail: "I haven't managed to watch the full episode yet as I've been travelling, but I saw a clip on TikTok. My heart absolutely sank, I started crying."

She added: "It was so hard to see, because I know Morgan is such a strong person, so he must have been struggling a lot. I just can't wait to give him the biggest hug on that bridge."

Elsewhere in the episode, tensions rose during a trial where AngryGinge felt "sabotaged" by rapper Aitch, who found the sabotage button first and turned off the lights in his competitor's compartment. Despite his initial frustration, shouting "There is no way he was beaten me again! My hand was already in there!", he managed to calm himself down and continue.
