A man has testified that he was blackmailed by a Scottish OnlyFans model into sending her £20,000. The alleged victim, who cannot be named for legal reasons, told a jury that he transferred the money to Portia Riddick, 23, in October 2023. He claimed that Riddick threatened to inform his friends that he had purchased explicit material from her.
Trial at Glasgow Sheriff Court
Riddick is on trial at Glasgow Sheriff Court charged with extorting a total of £20,013 from the man between October 15 and October 25, 2023, at her home in Possilpark, Glasgow. The court heard that the pair connected on Instagram in 2021, but it was not until October 2023 that the man contacted Riddick, who allegedly advertised her content under the username 'PortiaHughes123'.
Victim's Testimony
The man, described as 'vulnerable,' stated that he initially paid £40 or £50 on two occasions for private explicit content via bank transfer. Prosecutor Abbas Ali asked if anything happened on October 15, 2023. The man replied: 'Yes, I uploaded a celebratory story for Scotland qualifying for Euro 2024 and tagged two of my friends as I was going to Germany with. A message from the account asked me to send money or she would message my friends telling them what I had been buying.'
The man said he was 'in shock' and sent an initial payment, believing it to be a 'one off.' He explained: 'I didn't want my friends to find out. I held my hands up to that. I didn't want anyone to find out.' Jurors heard that he sent a series of payments ranging from £10 to £2,000 and was contacted on social media twice daily during that period.
Final Payment and Police Involvement
The man claimed he believed he would get his money back if he made a final £2,000 payment on October 25, which he did. He said he thought he would meet a friend of Riddick's in Glasgow city centre to retrieve the cash, but no one showed up. He then reported the matter to his bank and the police, later recovering his money.
Defence lawyer Ross Jenkins put it to the witness that he had messaged Riddick in February 2025, reading: 'Cheeky...because you want to secure daddy for more money.' The man denied sending the message. He also initially refuted screenshots from May and June 2026 showing him viewing Riddick's social media story, later claiming he was checking if she had mentioned him. Jenkins suggested: 'What I suggest was happening here was that this money was being sent because you were clearly trying to purchase content from Portia Riddick. Do you accept you were getting content sent to you?' The man replied: 'Wrong.'
Sister's Account
Jurors also heard from Riddick's younger sister, Paris Riddick, 20, who claimed she was nearly arrested when police visited their home. She said she opened a bank account that she gave full control to Portia Riddick, and that Portia told officers she controlled the account, leading to her arrest instead. Police Constable Rachel Strachan, 29, told the court that the victim asked to report the matter in a police van rather than at his parents' home.
The trial continues before Sheriff Joan Kerr.
