A woman in her 30s who was arrested on suspicion of causing or allowing the death of two children following a fatal house fire in Wolverhampton has been released on police bail.

Details of the Incident

Two young boys, aged one and three, tragically lost their lives in the blaze that erupted on Mason Street on Friday evening, according to West Midlands Police. Firefighting crews entered the property and managed to rescue the two children, but they were pronounced dead at the scene.

Two other children and a woman had already evacuated the house before emergency services arrived. They were assessed by ambulance personnel but did not require hospital treatment.

Police Statement

On Sunday, authorities confirmed that the woman had been released on police bail as investigations continue. A spokesperson for West Midlands Police stated: “A woman arrested following the fatal fire in Mason Street, Wolverhampton, on Friday evening has been released on police bail as investigations continue. A scene remains in place, and we would like to thank the local community for their patience and support at this difficult time.”
