Two men have been arrested following a racially motivated attack on a house in Belfast on Saturday night, which left two people injured and a woman and several young children terrified inside.
Attack on Donegall Avenue
The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) reported that shortly before 1:10 am on Sunday, 14 June 2026, a group of men approached a property on Donegall Avenue in the south of the city. The occupants were trying to leave when the suspects began shouting aggressively.
Inspector Wilson stated: "This group then confronted the residents of the property and attacked them, resulting in injuries to two people and damage to the property. It is believed a number of weapons may have been used in this incident."
Woman and Children Inside
During the attack, a woman and several young children were inside the home. Damage was also caused to a car parked outside. The incident is being treated as a racially motivated hate crime.
Arrests Made
Police responded quickly and arrested two men, one in his 40s and one in his 20s, on suspicion of related offences. They remain in custody assisting with enquiries.

Inspector Wilson added: "Our enquiries are ongoing, and we would appeal to anyone with any information which might assist us to get in touch via 101, quoting reference number 101 of 14/06/26. We would be particularly keen to hear from anyone who might have any relevant CCTV or ring doorbell footage."
