Miranda Hart was all smiles as she arrived in Scotland with her rarely-seen husband Richard Fairs on Sunday ahead of filming Celebrity Traitors. The comedian, 53, looked in high spirits as she was supported by her husband, 60, whom she married in October 2024.
Arrival in the Scottish Highlands
The couple landed at Inverness airport in a private jet before Miranda began filming for the hit BBC show in the Scottish Highlands. She kept casual in an oversized black shirt layered over blue denim cropped jeans. Comfortable in white trainers, the TV star carried a large black handbag and placed sunglasses on her head. Meanwhile, chartered building surveyor Richard donned a blue quarter-zip jumper with jeans and trainers.
Return to Television After Health Battle
Miranda is making her return to TV after being announced among the Celebrity Traitors series two cast on Saturday. In her 2024 autobiography, she recounted a three-decade health battle that left her bedbound and without joy. It took medics 33 years to discover she had Lyme disease, after initially misdiagnosing her with agoraphobia. She also revealed a diagnosis of ME, or chronic fatigue syndrome. As a result, she has largely stayed out of the spotlight over the past five years, with limited TV appearances.
Other Celebrities Arrive for Filming
Hours earlier, Love Island host Maya Jama, Coronation Street actress Julie Hesmondhalgh, and EastEnders star Ross Kemp also touched down before heading to Ardross Castle. Comedian Joanne McNally was seen on the same flight, dressed in cycling shorts and dark shades. The Celebrity Traitors series two cast was officially announced when the BBC dropped the first teaser trailer on Saturday, with Jerry Hall also spotted heading to the castle over the weekend.
Full Cast Revealed
After months of speculation, the 21 names were finally revealed in a quirky trailer. Joining Miranda are Michael Sheen, James Blunt, comedians Rob Beckett, Joe Lycett, and James Acaster, as well as Little Mix star Leigh-Anne Pinnock. The line-up also includes mathematician Hannah Fry, broadcaster Amol Rajan, prankster King Kenny, Industry star Myha'la, Heartstopper's Sebastian Croft, and My Mad Fat Diary's Sharon Rooney. The trailer, set in airport arrivals, shows actors holding roundtable chalkboards with names, many intentionally misspelled for comedic effect.
Sharing the clip on Instagram, the BBC wrote: 'Host Claudia Winkleman will welcome an eclectic mix of people and personalities ranging from BAFTA and BRIT award winners through to social media stars. Plus some of the UK's most cherished actors, comedians, presenters and beyond as the celebrities question who they can and can't really trust, figure out who deserves to be banished and try to discover which of them is plotting murder under the cover of darkness.'
