A 16-year-old boy and his pet dog were fatally shot in their home in Walkertown, North Carolina, prompting an urgent appeal for witnesses from law enforcement officials who described the perpetrator as a monster.
Discovery of the Crime
Deputies from the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office responded to a residence in Walkertown, approximately 25 miles west of Greensboro, shortly before 6 a.m. on Saturday. Official Reaction
Forsyth County Sheriff Bobby F. Kimbrough Jr. expressed deep anguish over the incident. "Make no mistake about it, there is a monster among us," he stated following the killings. "There are times in my life when I have questioned the moral compass of society and this is truly another one of those times.
