A lip reader has revealed that President Donald Trump issued a sinister warning to King Charles during their first meeting at the White House, despite public assurances of safety. The exchange, inaudible to television cameras, allegedly involved Trump referencing a recent assassination attempt and discussing tensions with Russia and Iran.
White House Welcome Marred by Security Concerns
King Charles and Queen Camilla received a warm welcome at the White House on the first day of their US state visit, smiling for cameras as they sat down for tea with Donald Trump and First Lady Melania. The visit proceeded following a potential assassination attempt on Trump at the White House Correspondents' Dinner on Saturday evening. Buckingham Palace confirmed the visit would continue as planned but with adjustments.
After tea, the King and Queen attended a garden party with hundreds of guests, including former Olympian Tom Daley and top Trump administration officials. Prior to the visit, Trump had assured that Charles and Camilla would be “really safe” in the US.
Lip Reader's Interpretation
Lip reader Nicola Hickling told the Daily Mail that during the greeting on the South Lawn, Trump whispered to the King about the shooting incident and his recent talks with Vladimir Putin. According to Hickling, Trump began with “This shooting…” and the King responded, “I'd rather not stand about here too long. I feel I shouldn't be here.”
Hickling believes Trump asked if the King was OK, adding, “It's not a good thing. I wasn't prepared, but now I am prepared.” Trump then changed the subject, telling the King he had been in contact with Putin. “So right now, I am talking to Putin. He wants war,” Trump allegedly said. The King attempted to defer the discussion, saying “Another time,” but Trump continued, “I've got a feeling… if he did what he said, he will wipe out the population.”
The White House did not immediately respond to requests for comment. The Mirror has a live blog for updates on the royal visit.
