HiPP Organic Recalls Baby Food Over Celery Allergy Risk
HiPP Organic Baby Food Recall Due to Allergy Risk

HiPP Organic, a leading manufacturer of baby food, has issued a recall for one of its popular products due to a labelling error that could pose a health risk to some children. The recall affects the HiPP Organic 7+ months Vegetable Lasagne 190g jar, following a mistake in the ingredient list where celeriac (celery) was not emphasised in bold, as required by allergen labelling regulations.

Product Recall Notice

The recall was announced by the Food Standards Agency (FSA), which stated that the product could be a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to celery. The affected product has a batch code of B49311 and a best before date of January 31, 2027. No other HiPP Organic products are believed to be affected.

Reason for Recall

HiPP Organic explained that the error occurred during a recent artwork print refresh. The allergen celeriac was not highlighted in bold within the ingredients list, making it a potential risk for babies with a celeriac allergy. The company urged customers who have purchased the product to check the label and take appropriate action.
