A man from North Carolina has challenged anyone to disprove his claim of having the world's smallest penis, in a bid to raise awareness about micropenis and combat body shaming. Michael Phillips, 38, said his penis measures 0.38 inches (0.97 cm) when erect, and even smaller when flaccid, as he demonstrated by holding up his pinky fingernail.
Phillips told TMZ that he was diagnosed with micropenis in 2025, and wanted to reduce stigma around the condition. He stressed that micropenis is a medical condition, not just an internet insult, and encouraged others to seek help early. According to the Cleveland Clinic, a stretched penile length of less than 2.67 inches (6.8 cm) qualifies as micropenis, which affects about 0.6% of people worldwide.
Phillips recounted difficulties with intimacy and urination, and said doctors offered little advice on increasing size. He now relies on oral stimulation and other forms of intimacy, as penetrative sex is not possible. He noted that a recent relationship ended due to distance, but the condition still affects his confidence when approaching potential partners.
Phillips also spoke against the stereotype that men with small penises overcompensate with aggressive behaviour or large vehicles, saying he believes there is no connection. He had looked into Guinness World Records but found they do not keep records for human sexual organs.
