An 84-year-old British author and former Honorary Consul, Barry Kenyon, has died after being struck by a motorbike in Pattaya, Thailand. The incident occurred on Saturday evening as Kenyon was crossing Thappraya Road to meet friends for dinner.

Kenyon, originally from Lancashire, was hit by a motorcycle ridden by Rana Mama, a 38-year-old Bangladeshi national. Police reported that the collision happened near a traffic light as it was about to turn green, and Kenyon was not using a crosswalk. He was taken to hospital but later died from his injuries.

Lieutenant Akrapong Saenputawong of Pattaya City Police confirmed that the motorcyclist tested negative for alcohol. Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage to determine the exact cause of the accident.
