Cowboys Coach's Home Becomes Wildlife Refuge: Owl, Snakes, Wasps
Dallas Cowboys coach's home invaded by wildlife

The Dallas home of Brian Schottenheimer, head coach of the Dallas Cowboys, has begun to resemble a chapter from the Old Testament after experiencing a third wildlife invasion in a matter of months. The family's latest unwelcome guests were a swarm of hundreds of wasps, adding to a growing list of creatures that have taken up residence.

A Trio of Troubles: From Owls to Wasps

The bizarre saga continued over the weekend when Gemmi Schottenheimer, the coach's wife, documented the latest incursion on her Instagram. She shared a video showing countless wasps covering a windowsill, with the theme tune from 'The Twilight Zone' playing ominously in the background. "Can't make it up... Snakes + an owl + wasps," she wrote, accompanied by a weary face emoji.

The clip panned to the ceiling where more of the insects were swarming. Fortunately, the family called in Little Giant Beekeepers, a local Dallas pest removal service, to handle the crisis. The exterminator impressively managed to kill at least 100 wasps with his bare hands, a fact Gemmi confirmed with a photo of the man proudly displaying the dead insects in his palm.

The Halloween Owl and Serpentine Visitors

This wasp infestation marks the third animal-related incident for the Schottenheimer family in quick succession. The troubles began on Halloween, when their son, Sutton, sent a panicked message reading, "I'm freaking out. A literal hawk size bird just flew into the house... IDK [I don't know] what to do."

Gemmi returned home to find an owl perched in the front window. The family's attempts to shoo it away were chaotic, with the bird flying across the living room, causing screams, and repeatedly thudding into windows. They eventually called animal control and were rescued by Sergeant Kyle, who successfully netted the owl and released it into the night.

This avian visit came just weeks after two of the family's dogs were bitten by snakes on the property. Reflecting on the strange sequence, Brian Schottenheimer himself mused, "I don't know if the owl was looking for the snakes or what was going on."

Conclusion: A Home on the Wild Frontier

The Schottenheimer residence has endured a remarkable run of bad luck with local fauna. From the slithering snakes to the dramatic owl and the latest buzzing wasp invasion, the family has faced a true wildlife trilogy. For now, they are surely hoping that their call to the pest control experts marks the final chapter in this unusual story.
