King Charles III has delivered a powerful message about humanity's intrinsic connection to the natural world in a new trailer for an upcoming documentary. The monarch, a lifelong environmental advocate, asserts that 'we are nature ourselves - we are a part of it, not apart from it.'
A Lifelong Philosophy of Harmony
The film, titled 'Finding Harmony: A King's Vision,' is scheduled for a global release on February 6. It will be available to stream exclusively on Prime Video in over 240 countries and territories. The documentary will chronicle the work of The King's Foundation, the charity Charles founded in 1990, and delve deeply into his personal environmental philosophy.
This philosophy, centred on the concept of 'harmony,' explores the essential bond between nature and humanity. In the trailer, set to Vivaldi's 'Winter,' the King explains the urgency of this worldview: 'I think we need to follow harmony if we're going to ensure this planet can support so many. It's unlikely there's anywhere else.'
The project is narrated by acclaimed actress Kate Winslet, who became an ambassador for The King's Foundation in June 2025. She states in the preview: 'His Majesty united so many people because the only path forward is together.'
Decades of Advocacy and Uphill Struggles
The documentary weaves together archival footage and new interviews, highlighting decades of the King's campaigning. It features poignant quotes from several of his landmark speeches, revealing the persistence his mission has required.
Viewers will see footage from his 2020 address to the World Economic Forum in Davos, where he reflected: 'I have dedicated much of my life to the restoration of harmony between humanity, nature and the environment. Quite frankly, it has been an uphill struggle.'
Further insights are drawn from a 2021 essay on sustainable farming for BBC Radio 4, where he argued 'We must put nature back at the heart of the equation,' and from the 2009 Copenhagen Climate Change Summit, where he warned: 'Our children and grandchildren will ask not what our generation said, but what it did.'
The film will explore the scientific foundations of the 'harmony' philosophy, which the King first detailed in his 2010 book 'Harmony: A New Way of Looking At Our World.' It also showcases the practical work of The King's Foundation in areas like community regeneration, sustainable textiles, and traditional skills.
Global Filming and a Message of Hope
Filming for the documentary took place across four continents, with significant segments shot at key locations such as Dumfries House in Ayrshire and Highgrove Gardens in Gloucestershire. A new photograph of Charles at Dumfries House was released alongside the trailer.
Kristina Murrin, Chief Executive of The King's Foundation, expressed excitement for the release: 'Viewers will have a front row seat to His Majesty's commitment to protecting our environment and the challenges and triumphs of this personal journey.'
Director Nicolas Brown described the film as a story of 'hope and resilience,' aiming to showcase the transformative global work inspired by the King's vision. 'People who watch this film will leave feeling uplifted and motivated,' he added.
The documentary, produced by Passion Planet and championed by Amazon MGM Studios, marks a significant royal collaboration for the streaming platform. It follows other high-profile royal-related content, contrasting with the Duke of Sussex's Netflix deal and Amazon's own dramatisation of Prince Andrew's 'Newsnight' interview.
'Finding Harmony: A King's Vision' premieres on Prime Video on February 6.
