Strictly Come Dancing viewers have accused the judges of biased scoring after Ellie Taylor and Tyler West topped the leaderboard following Halloween-themed performances. James Bye and Ellie Simmonds landed at the bottom, sparking a wave of criticism on social media.
Fans took to X, formerly Twitter, to voice their frustrations. One user, Simon, fumed: 'Will Mellor gets just ONE mark more than Tony Adams. Is this just to keep the viewing figures up because they need the Arsenal fans? #strictly #fix.' Another, Andy Smith, said: 'If Molly goes tonight, and they save the perfect score for her, it’s basically a fix… #strictly.'
Regina questioned the judges' consistency: 'I cannot believe it! Tony Adams didn't get ONE single comment on his technique, his scores are relatively high despite being stiff throughout. Other contestants instead... How biased are the judges?' Many believed Ellie Taylor, who performed to I Put A Spell on You from Hocus Pocus, was 'overmarked', while others felt bookmakers' favourite Hamza was 'undermarked'.
Despite the backlash, judges praised Taylor's performance. Craig Revel Horwood called it her best routine, Motsi Mabuse said it was her favourite dance of the night, and Shirley Ballas added: 'You put a spell on me for sure.' Hamza remains the favourite to win, with Kym Marsh, James Bye, and Ellie Taylor considered at risk of elimination.
Strictly Come Dancing continues Sunday at 7.20pm on BBC One.
