The scene features the character Holly Wheeler, now played by Nell Fisher, who finds herself trapped in Vecna's sinister Pain Tree.
As Holly struggles to break free, viewers clearly noticed she was wearing a long-sleeved t-shirt bearing the distinctive logo of the sportswear giant Under Armour. This presents a major chronological issue: the popular brand was not founded until 1996, while the current storyline of Stranger Things is firmly set in 1987, nine years earlier.
Fan Reaction and Showrunner Clarifications
The blunder quickly sparked debate on social media platform X. One exasperated viewer posted, "Ts p**sed me off even more how did they not notice this," while another questioned, "How does something like that even slip by?" However, not all reactions were critical, with a third fan offering a defence: "A mistake could happen anywhere, there is no need to dwell on it."

"That's a breakup," Matt Duffer told People magazine. "They are broken up." He explained that the scene, which ends with Nancy accepting Jonathan's 'un-proposal' before they kiss, was always intended to show the couple parting ways. "We all felt that Nancy needed to end up on her own and be independent and have an opportunity to find herself," he added.
