French President Emmanuel Macron has captivated attendees at a state dinner in Armenia's capital, Yerevan, by performing classic ballads, including Charles Aznavour's 'La Bohème.' The event, held on Monday night at the presidential residence, was hosted in Macron's honour during his state visit, which coincided with a European Political Community gathering and a historic European Union summit.
Musical Collaboration
Macron was joined on stage by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, who played the drums, and celebrated jazz musician Vahagn Hayrapetyan on the piano. In addition to 'La Bohème,' originally recorded by Armenian-French artist Charles Aznavour in 1965, Macron also performed 'Les Feuilles Mortes' by Yves Montand.
Pashinyan's Musical Flair
Prime Minister Pashinyan, who took office in 2018, is known for his musical talents as part of his group Varchaband, which debuted in Yerevan in January. He frequently shares videos of himself listening to music on Instagram, with a taste ranging from Taylor Swift to Travis Scott and A$AP Rocky.
