Brian "Liver King" Johnson, the disgraced former Netflix star and social media influencer, has returned to posting inflammatory videos about podcaster Joe Rogan, mere weeks after criminal charges against him were dismissed.
Charges Quietly Dismissed After Counselling
According to court records reported by the New York Post, the misdemeanour terroristic-threat charge against Johnson was dropped on 12 November 2025. The 48-year-old had been released from jail on a $20,000 bond and ordered to wear an ankle monitor. The charge's dismissal reportedly came after Johnson completed a series of mandatory counselling classes.
This legal development followed Johnson's arrest in June 2025 in Rogan's hometown of Austin, Texas. Police were alerted after Johnson posted alarming Instagram clips in which he spoke about wanting to fight Rogan while holding what appeared to be two firearms. Rogan himself told authorities Johnson seemed "significantly unstable" and in need of help.
Instagram Rants Pick Up Where They Left Off
Despite the recent legal resolution, Johnson has swiftly returned to his previous behaviour. He has posted three new Instagram videos—one on 25 November and two on 26 November—again targeting the world's top podcaster.
In the videos, Johnson uses photos of both Joe Rogan and actor Seth Rogen to illustrate a fictitious conversation between them. He rants about themes of family and fighting for money, directly addressing Rogan. "They weren't threats. A challenge. A fight. Come on, drama king," Johnson states. He adds, "That's what's happening. Still challenging Joe Rogan to a fight. You can't run forever. You're eventually going to have to say something."
A Feud Rooted in Steroid Scandal
The origins of Johnson's animosity appear to trace back to a 2022 scandal where he was exposed for using performance-enhancing drugs. He had built his online persona—and his business, Ancestral Supplements—on claims that his formidable physique came solely from an extreme "ancestral lifestyle" of eating raw organ meats and intense biohacking.
Rogan discussed this controversy extensively on his globally popular podcast, "The Joe Rogan Experience." Police records indicate Rogan was surprised by Johnson's subsequent threatening behaviour, as the two men have never had any direct contact.
Johnson, who boasts 2.9 million Instagram followers, was previously ordered to stay away from Rogan following his June arrest. It remains unclear if that restraining order is still in effect.
The Independent has contacted both Joe Rogan and the Austin Police Department for comment on the latest developments.
