Molly-Mae Hague has spoken out about the backlash she faced after attending the wedding of Venezuela Fury and Noah Price earlier this month, while heavily pregnant. The 27-year-old Love Island star said she was 'severely humbled' by the criticism, particularly over her choice to wear a black jumpsuit to the ceremony, which she admitted she did not realise was considered inappropriate for a wedding.
Wedding Details and Attendance
Approximately 120 guests gathered for the ceremony at the Victorian Royal Chapel of St John's on the Isle of Man, before moving to a reception at the neighbouring Comis Hotel near Douglas. Molly, who is around eight months pregnant with her second child to Tommy Fury, attended with her sister Zoe. Tommy, Venezuela's uncle, was absent due to training camp for his fight with Eddie Hall.
Molly, her daughter Bambi, and sister Zoe flew into the Isle of Man on a private jet from Manchester, returning home just hours later. She admitted that her attendance was touch-and-go due to her pregnancy, but she felt it was important to support her future in-laws, especially since Bambi served as a bridesmaid for her older cousin.
Backlash Over Outfit Choice
In her latest YouTube vlog, Molly expressed surprise at the criticism over wearing black. 'Since when was it not acceptable to wear black to a wedding? I didn't know you couldn't wear black to a wedding. It's more of a, I don't want to say a funeral colour...' She added that she was 'severely humbled in the comments,' but admitted she hadn't considered how her outfit would be perceived because she was focused on the wedding day itself.
Despite the backlash, Molly said she did care about her appearance and had put thought into her outfit, having the jumpsuit tailored. However, she changed her hair from a planned bun to a slicked-back style. She explained, 'I had a bit of a spiral this morning. I don't know why I didn't think about the pictures and videos coming out. Because in my head, I was just thinking about the wedding and it's their day, it's about them.'
Support from Paris Fury
Paris Fury, Venezuela's mother and Tommy's sister-in-law, praised Molly for making the journey while heavily pregnant. 'She is incredible. She is being fully supportive, and she is bringing Bambi over, so that Bambi could be a bridesmaid with the kids. I have got to throw her props. She is making that journey while heavily pregnant and I wouldn't have been able to face that while I was at her term of pregnancy. I'm very glad that they are coming. It means a lot.'
Molly concluded that despite her hesitation, attending the wedding was the right decision, as her daughter lived her 'dream' in a fancy dress, surrounded by cousins.
